Stefan Olofsson

Musician & Producer

I'm a Swedish producer and pianist working across pop, jazz, classical music, and progressive rock. I'm one half of the yacht rock duo State Cows and a member of the crossover progressive band Dynamo Bliss.

My first solo album, Story of a Woman, was released in 2003 and blends elements of jazz, classical music, progressive rock, and Swedish folk traditions. Around the same time, I worked as a session musician on the yacht rock projects DP - Strange Ways and Daniel Andersson - Days in L.A.

I've performed and recorded with a range of international artists, including Jay Graydon (two-time Grammy winner, Steely Dan, Earth, Wind & Fire), Bill Champlin (Chicago), Jason Scheff (Chicago), Michael Landau (Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd) and Ian Bairnson (Kate Bush, Alan Parsons Project).

I currently work as a solo artist, session musician, and mixing and mastering engineer alongside my two bands, and I also perform as a jazz pianist in Chania, Greece.

Stefan's piano/keyboard work is exceptional. His parts are played with both emotion and attention to detail, his turnaround time is extremely fast (next day for both the original pass and revisions), and he is not just willing to address requested revisions, he is eager to do so in the interest of making sure the track is as good as it can be. Highly recommend!

It was a pleasure working with Stefan who is a great musician. I gave Stefan my rough demo and in a short period of time, he found better chords for the choruses, which was my request.
